Born in 1963, Stockholm, Daniel Birnbaum is an internationally-known curator and art critic. He had been the director of the Moderna Museet in Stockholm, the director of Städelschule in Frankfurt, and the director of the 53rd Venice Biennale (2009). His famous works include: The Hospitality of Presence: Problems of Otherness in Husserl's Phenomenology（1998）, Production (in collaboration with Carsten Höller, 2000), Chronology (2005) among others.
