The Little Sun Charge Story 

The second member of our Little Sun family, a solar charger and lamp we call Little Sun Charge, was officially launched in 2016 and is now available all over the world.

From its beginnings as a successful Kickstarter project in 2015, Little Sun Charge is charging phones and changing the lives of people across the planet, like community health workers in Tanzania. Like the Little Sun Original, our product was designed by the Little Sun founders, artist Olafur Eliasson and engineer Frederik Ottesen.

Designed by Olafur Eliasson, Little Sun Charge brings the power of the sun to your phone, MP3 player, camera, or e-reader – wherever you are, whenever you need it. Featuring a powerful 4400 mAh battery and a robust inbuilt lamp that’s bright enough to light a whole kitchen or tent, Little Sun Charge is an essential item for your next camping trip, festival adventure or for hardworking professionals on the road.

When you buy Little Sun products, you make solar energy available to communities without electricity at a locally affordable price. For every Little Sun sold, one goes to our partners in rural Africa, where we train local sales agents and bring solar energy to those who need it most.

Light Output: A fully charged Little Sun Charge gives you 14 hours bright light 75 lm, 45 hours at 25 lm or more than 150 hours at lowest level, 8 lm

Charging: To charge, place the Little Sun Charge in the sun with its solar panel facing upwards or connect using a micro USB. Little Sun Charge takes about 7.5 hours to fully charge

About Olafur Eliasson

Olafur Eliasson’s art is driven by his interests in perception, movement, embodied experience, and feelings of self. Eliasson strives to make the concerns of art relevant to society at large. Eliasson’s diverse works – in sculpture, painting, photography, film, and installations – have been exhibited widely throughout the world. Eliasson lives and works in Copenhagen and Berlin.
