This publication is a parallel space corresponding to the exhibition of “Sprout from White Nights” at Bonniers Konsthall, which features works by 17 young Chinese artists(Cao Fei, Chu Yun, Hipic Group (Xu Zhen, Yang Zhenzhong, Huang Kui), Hu Xiaoyuan, Jiang Jun, Kan Xuan, Lee Kit, Liu Wei, Pak Sheung Chuen, Xu Tan, Yan Jun, Yang Fudong, Yangjiang Group (Zheng Guogu, Chen Zaiyan, Sun Qinglin), Zhang Da, Zheng Guogu),who were born in the 1970s, and live and work mainly in the large industrial and economically expanding cities on China's east coast. In order to open up a dialogue and an exchange, Bonniers Konsthall has invited Chinese curator Zhang Wei to present her perspective on contemporary Chinese art. In collaboration with Bonniers Konsthall, Zhang has produced an exhibition that provides viewers with an insight into today's China, not only through the works of the participating artists, but also through workshops, lectures, conversations, film screenings, design and an extensive publication.
