In the year of 2006, Xiao He made soundtracks for the film Luxury Car directed by Wang Chao; between 2007 and 2010, he successively composed film scores for Mid-afternoon Barks directed by Zhang Yuedong, The Case by director Wang Fen and No.89 Shimen Road by Shu Lunhao. In 2012-2013, Xiao He completed the systematic music work for 3 films (the Fly With The Crane of director Li Ruijun, Don’t Expect Praises by director Yang Jin and The Love Songs Of Tiedan by director Hao Jie) produced by Heaven Pictures (Beijing) Culture&Media Co.Ltd. Audiences who have watched these films were all impressed by the music written by Xiao He. When doing the mixing, Xiao He added the ending song written for the micro film OCT-LOFT in 2013 and the opening song created for the TV series Zhang Li Hong De Xian Dai Sheng Huo in 2007. Ultimately, the 5CD collection comprises 78 original songs in total (three of which were composed for pertinent movies but were not actually used).
Xiao He can make himself understood through incomprehensible language. He himself once quipped that the intriguing points of the film scours are “for those parts that require lyrics to express, I intentionally sang with indistinct words so that the music won’t have distractive effect on the film itself.” This excerpt explains the mystery between “not understanding” and “understanding”.
